STAGE 1:

The clay is extracted from a million year old river bed in the fields surronding the factory.

From the river bed it is taken to the pud-mill shed.

STAGE 2:

A pug-mill is clay mixer it makes the clay malleable, making it easier to work with. Many centuries ago this would have been done by hand.
